Tiny dancer

June1

Yesterday was a long one.  Tessa was in a pissy challenging mood. I knew there was no way I would be up for baths at the end of a very long day.  So bath time came late afternoon.  And I let them play in there until they were prune-y.

After bath time, I left the girls put on their dress up princess ballerina outfits (their term).  Unfortunately, Tessa’s pissy challenging mood returned once bath time was over. But Sabrina immediately decided it was time for a ballerina show.  She asked me to turn music on and danced for 30 minutes while Tessa raged over an injustice that I won’t even try to describe.  Sabrina, who hated dance class and didn’t want to take it again, danced and paused for applause saying “Thank you! Thank you!” at the end of each song.  I’m wondering if the school wasn’t a good fit for her.  Or if she just doesn’t want any structure and prefers to do her own thing in our sun room instead of formal classes. (Conditions weren’t great for photos but I wasn’t going to stop her so that I could adjust the lighting.)

Beautiful pics! Sorry Tessa was in a bad mood. Do you think she wasn’t feeling well? I know that’s usually when my kids act really annoying, LOL. But sometimes people just have bad days. Love how much Sabrina loves to dance!

I love how focused Sabrina is on her dancing! (and she’s so pretty in her pink dress-up clothes too) Love afternoon baths…a little surprise bathtime usually turns it around attitude-wise for my kiddos too. Hope a good night’s sleep helped (maybe it’s a little missing daddy blues too?).

Gah!!! You have been BUSY!!!! Just caught up. You have a wonderful husband:) Truly, you are a team. In the end this will all be worth it, right? At least, that is what I keep telling myself here as well. The pics of him leaving were real tear jerkers. Where is the one of you saying good-bye?!?! Single parenting isn’t easy, good luck to you!!!

LOVING all of the pics of the girls. Sabrina is a true ham, and I love seeing the joy in her face. Tessa, what a beauty—love the pasta bird pics:)

I am sure I forgot things, but glad you are back.

Love these pictures of Sabrina. I’m willing to bet that she doesn’t like the structure of the class and just wants to do her own thing. Serena and Sabrina seem to be very much the same and this was what happened when Serena was in dance class. She wasn’t ready for someone telling her what to do, she has her own ideas. Seems like we both have little independent girls.

Those are beautiful pictures of Sabrina. The collage is wall hanging worthy. I love how “in to it” she is, eyes closed and in her own little dream world. So sweet.
So sorry you are having a rough time. Single parenting is easy if you don’t know anything else and are used to it (unless you are me and try to take a three and five year old to Disneyland without a stroller for 8 days and then make a REALLY stupid mommy move on the second day there and end up in an ambulance and the ER and get 20 stitches in the arm…..then it’s not easy!). If you are not used to single parenting, I can imagine how hard it must be. And missing hubby doesn’t help much either.
I’ve learned that taking one moment at a time and savoring the little things really helps. But you already know that.
Hang it there, I think it will all be worth it for you and I love your post about knowing that a pretty home and great friends, although important, is not where your heart is, it’s with your hubby and kids. Love it.
    Take care

she truly looks like a dancer! Maybe a different type of dance class? Jamie had two, one ballet and another ‘rythmic dance’. She enjoys both. (but also doesn’t seem to like to do things by rote ie crab walk, bear walk, etc)
