Happy Independence Day

July4

Steve spent part of the afternoon watching a series on the history channel about the American Revolution so I feel like I spent time thinking of the true meaning behind this day.  But tonight, I’m having flashbacks to Guatemala.  Either it is legal to set off fireworks in TN or the cops just don’t care.  There has been non-stop noise for the past 3 hours.  Everyone seems to have a garage full of fireworks to set off.  Thankfully, Sabrina seems to be sleeping through it all.  She usually did in Guatemala too – unfortunately I did not.

Sabrina sporting her stars and stripes:

She spent yesterday afternoon chasing and running from the dog while squealing.  Around the kitchen island they go and then back into the living room to start the circuit over again.  They are like siblings – when one is bored he/she goes and antagonizes the other.

And finally, just to show what 12 hours does to my ankles:

9 a.m. = close to normal ankles

9 p.m. = cankles and sausage toes (although this isn’t even close to the worse case of cankles I’ve had)

That is the cutest picture of Sabrina running from the dog. It is so good that they keep each other entertained.
I feel for you with the fluid retention in the evening. You don’t have to much longer to go. Hang in there.

I had the same ankle swelling fun when I was pregnant with my son! We flew across the country (wi to nc) and when we got there I had to talk my husband out of either rushing me to the er or renting a car and driving home! I had never seen such swelling!!

On the upside…it goes away immediately after the baby arrives!! HANG IN THERE!!!!

My ankles and feet are similarly swollen and painful, but it does get better. I remember looking down about three days after each of the other kids was born and marveling in the fact that my lower legs looked so skinny. It was the only part that looked skinny very quickly, but I’ve learned to take what I can get.

Wow hope you are taking good care of yourself dear. High blood pressure and water retention – you are keeping your feet up as much as possible?

Sorry about your ankles… that makes my feet hurt!

In the city of SH the fireworks ban is lifted from 4 PM until 11PM (supposedly) on 4th and New Years… but I can almost promise you that someone will clear out the leftovers at the stand tonight and you will get another show… and nothing will be done about it.

We have the same flag shirt for Alayna, except in red. I love Walmart!

Like other people have said, the swelling goes away quickly after baby comes! You should be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel by now! Only a few more weeks!
