Doc Crazy fan club*

April9

Turns out it isn’t just me. A couple of local people found my blog in the past day or 2. I’ve received several emails wondering if Doc Crazy might have been their nightmare doctor as well. Surprise, surprise – she is. I think we should start a little club. The women I’ve heard from stuck with her and had horrible L&D (or I should say c-section because that’s all she seems to do) stories as a result. So I count myself lucky for leaving before I have to remember her as part of my baby’s birth story. Now she can fade into a funny story I tell at play dates – once I’m done being bitter of course.

Thanks to everyone out there for the support. It is always nice to know your peeps have your back – even if just in thought.

* Updated to add: Now Doc Crazy doesn’t want to give me my records. I called and asked the med tech to make a copy for me to pick up on Friday morning. She called back today and said Doc Crazy wants me to fax a release and the info for my new doc and they will mail it directly there. Nope. I informed her that wasn’t acceptable. The records are mine. I am legally entitled to them and I would be there to pick them up on Friday. If Friday isn’t convenient, I can wait until Monday morning. The med tech nervously told me she would have to check with the doctor. I told her that was fine but I would see her on Friday.

Spring has sprung here in Nashville. Today is supposed to be mid-70’s but it is rainy this morning. Sabrina doesn’t care. She wants to go out and play anyway. Perhaps she heard that it is supposed to drop 25 degrees this weekend.

Wow – I can’t believe people knew Doc Crazy just through reading your story. She sounds horrible. I am SO glad you gave her the boot. Rainy day, huh? I wore the kids out at Centennial Park yesterday afternoon – I’m glad – especially if this weekend is gonna suck. 🙁 Hey – I’ll email soon about a get together!

Oh my gosh Michelle that is crazy about your ex-doctor. I am so glad you got away from her. Seriously she sounds psycho. Love the picture of Sabrina! Her hair is getting long! Hope you all end up seeing some sunshine today!

Sabrinas hair is just gorgeous! I’m jealous. Madeline has a birds nest for hair. Including a 2 inch ‘poof-thing’ in the middle of her head in the back.

Did Doc Crazy ever respond to your fax?

Wow I feel like I am tuning into a soap… I am sure it feels surreal to you even though you are living it!

If anything since she is really showing her true colors, you will have no doubts ever that you did the right thing!

Thanks for telling everyone about this doctor. I added a review of my own to ratemds.com for her. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes really well and your new doctor is wonderful!

Before my title changed to mama, I worked in a doctor’s office. Legally those records are yours. You have the right to them. They may charge you a fee for copying them, but they are yours. She sounds like a nut.

I am a nurse and you are absolutely right. Those records are yours legally. I’m glad you aren’t going back to that wack job of a doctor…

OUCH – I’ll be sending happy thoughts your way tomorrow that you don’t have to storm the office for your own records.

    Michelle,

I wonder if a trip to the public library would be in order, generally your main branch will have someone who deals in Government Documents (gov docs). That librarian should be able to get you a print out of the law that says you are entitled to your records. If your library has a chat feature, you may even be able to do this via the web. Also, gov doc repositories are open to the public, so you could even ask your local university, even if you have no affiliation, because if they have gov docs, they have to help you.

It might be staisfying to walk in with the law in hand.

Chick is WHACKED. $20 bucks says she was going to try and figure out who your next doctor is so she could call up and do damage control, i.e. say you were difficult. Don’t tell her who you’re going to see.

I would not want her anywhere near my baby either. You made a wiiiiiiiise choice, sistah.
