Back away from the pregnant lady

March5

Had yet another doctor appointment today.  My doctor has now successfully driven away her nurse – the only sane person who worked there.  So now I am stuck with just crazy doc and her nervous intern until she hires a new nurse.  I spent my entire appointment being belligerent – questioning her about decisions she has made without my input, refusing to blindly follow her requests, flat out refusing to come in for another appointment next week, calling her a control freak, and generally making a pain in the ass of myself.  She was probably glad to see me go today.  Her intern spent the time snickering out of sight while I being difficult.

All looked good with the baby. The baby was also being difficult and again refused to give us a between the legs shot so no gender news.

Like Sig, I am always wrong about gender. BUT I hope you’re having a girl. How embarrassing for your poor son if you couldn’t even see it??

Sorry about the God-Complex doc. What decisions is she making without you?

Oh, I know your type!!! (just kidding…really!). Good for you for sticking up for yourself. (but be careful not to alienate her if you’re not planning on switching, you know.)

I tell you, that Dr. freaks me out and she isn’t my Dr. Good job for standing up for yourself.

Now, as for Mr. or Miss (that’s my vote, in case you care) spread ’em already!!!

Gotta wonder when the nurse is being driven away…….

Love that you took control today!! I’m so happy to hear that things are well with the baby.

Is there anything you guys are calling the wee one in absentia? For example, my sis called her baby “Bug” til he was born b/c he looked, well, like a wee little bug on the ultrasound.

Glad to hear you are sticking up for yourself with Crazy Doctor Lady. And bummer about the lack of gender news – I’m dying to know!! (As if I could possibly be as interested as you are…)

I could picture the intern snickering since that is what I was doing while reading the post. Glad all is going well.

I don’t understand. Why do you stay with her if you hate her and she’s insane control freak? Aren’t there like a MILLION OBGYNs out there? Is she the only one your insurance covers or something? Sheesh. At least you told her off. Maybe she’ll back down a bit with you.

And I’m REALLY glad the baby is doing well. That is the definite plus side!

Hope you can find another doctor. Going to appointments should be something you look forward to… not dread because you have to deal with people like her.

You’ve said it yourself, this pregnancy is a miracle and in my opinion you should be having happy postive people (especially doctors) around you. Enjoy pregnancy…

    Hi Michelle.
I don’t know if you remember me or not, but I was on American Baby way back when. I thought of you today (weird since it has been forever since we were on AB) when I saw an online article about Guatemala adoptions. I remembered you were adopting from there and that you had a website to write about it all, so I went to the old AB chat boards to look you up (stalker). Your little girl is beautiful! And I see you are pregnant! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! It was a tough and long wait for you, but had it gone any other way you would not have your little Sabrina. Best of luck!
